Allison has been with us for quite some time! We have watched this part time college student go through many important life events since her first time to walk into our lives. She graduated from Spring Hill College here in Mobile. She got married to the love of her life, and she has grown into the most beautiful and classy, and downright swanky little lady! I decided to interview Allison because I really wanted to share about the person Allison is, not just who she is to her Lotus Family, but to the rest of the world. Enjoy this little piece on our little prize Allison. Our special girl with a little swank!
1. Tell us what things you like to do when you are NOT at Lotus.
This is a hard one because I like to do so much! Scott ( my husband) and I love to cook! One of our favorite dates is literally just going to the grocery store to shop for a new recipe. We are big eaters! I've also recently picked up gardening. A few years ago I bought a house with a landscaped backyard that is perfect for gardening! Flowers will always brighten up your day.
I also love giving back to my community. I have recently joined The Junior League of Mobile and I am also a chairman for an event called Wine, Women and Shoes, that will take place in 2016 (A fashion benefit for Camp Rap-A-Hope). I am also a huge hot tea drinker (think British tea-time). My Granny got me hooked and I have to have like 3 cups a day. And then there is always Rolo, my two year old miniature dachshund. He is my life!
2. What are a few things that are meaningful to you?
Family and friendships. I have a HUGE family and we are all so close. I also have a large group of friends that I love so dearly even though we are spread out across almost 10 different states. I think relationships are what really matter in life.
3. What are a few things on your bucket list?
I don't really believe in bucket lists because I don't want to have any regrets in life. But, I want to at least go on a Euro trip with Scott and my brother Andrew before I turn the big 3-0! I have always had a yearning to go travel across Europe but just never had the opportunity to go. My grandmother has done it a few times and I have all of her vintage travel books that I took on a daily basis! I look forward to having that cup of tea somewhere on the English countryside one day!
4. What era in time inspires you the most? The 50's, 60's, the 70's, 80's or the 90's? How does this reflect in your fashion sense?
Definitely the 60's. There was so much style in that decade. All of my favorite style icons are from the 60's: Twiggy, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot. I channel the early 60's when I go for the more put together, sophisticated look. I channel the late 60's when I am feeling a little boho. There was more to just the fashion in the 60's, everything seemed stylish!
Allison, indeed, has come a long way from when she began since her first day with us at Lotus. She has so much more life to live as well! So today, we want to celebrate, Allison, our fabulous boutique manager here in Mobile. We are surely blessed to know this wonderful little swanky lady! Everything she does, she does it with style and class! Have a great day Allison! We love you!
