How to Dress When You Are a Wedding Guest

Have a wedding coming up and you’re not too sure what to wear? Here are some quick and easy tips to make sure you feel and look your best while watching the couple say “I do”. First thing you want to do is use the invitation as a guideline; the time of the ceremony and the location are very important. It will also specify if there is an expected dress.

Rule 1:

For a formal wedding, in the evening and indoors, you should always dress very nice. A floor length dress is a great option! You could also wear a cocktail dress or a dressy skirt with a top.

Rule 2:

For a more casual wedding, one during the day and outdoors, business casual and ‘church clothes’ are always a safe bet; a sundress with wedges or a maxi skirt with a top will be sure to make you feel great and look appropriate.

Rule 3:

The last thing is you can wear black to a wedding! Gone are the days where it was off limits or considered to be taboo. A little black dress is the perfect thing to wear to an evening wedding.

Don’t stress over your outfit! It may seem like a big deal but as long as you don’t wear white or a super short dress, everyone will be looking at the bride and groom!

For our next topic here are a few tips of things not to wear at a wedding.

1. Common sense, but you would be surprised at how many girls do this, DON’T wear a white dress. We all know they look great in the summer but save it for date night! You don’t want to take away from the bride on her special day.

2. Another one is, don’t wear something too tight or short. Bodycon is great when you’re going out on a night on the town, but to a wedding ceremony, it attracts the wrong attention.

It’s better to be over-dressed than under-dressed at any event, especially a wedding, so have fun with it and let us help you find the perfect outfit for any event!
