Tip #1: Tea Parties are perfect for any kind of event!

They make adorable children's birthday parties because let's face it... who doesn't love a little girl dolled up with bows and lace? Graduations, book clubs, baby showers, wedding showers... the list goes on and on! Nothing says sweet southern style like tea parties and little lace gloves!

Tip #2: Set a dress code.

You're going to be spending a lot of time planning your perfect little tea party and you don't want any of your guests to show up without looking the part. Give them examples of appropriate tea party attire which always includes at least one of the following: cute dress, lace, floral prints, blouse with structured pants/shorts/skirt, and a cute shoe to top off the look!

Tip #3: Decorate and send out invitations!

A Lotus Girl never does anything halfway so get crafty and start dreaming up the perfect tea party invitations! You can easily make DIY Invitiations by getting beautiful card-stock, cute trims and lace, buttons, beads, or even stamps! If you aren't as crafty, no worries: check out VistaPrint for easy and affordable invitation templates!

Tip #4: Use china and glassware to set the atmosphere.

A perfect tea party isn't complete without cute teacups and teapots! Your tea party table doesn't have to having a matching tea set to make the party adorable! In fact, tea parties are quite cute with an eclectic mix of teacup patterns and styles. You can even ask your guests to bring their favorite teacups and teapots for the party.

Tip #5: Decorate the party table.

Setting up the scenery for your tea party is essential for good pictures and setting the atmosphere! You can use different boxes, tray displays, and bowls to create depth within your table and give it beautiful dimension! Use flowers and greenery to place between your trays and platters so that your table has finishing touches!

Tip #6: Have an assortment of finger foods.

Not all guests will like savory foods just the same as not all guests will like sweet foods. It's important to have an assortment of finger foods and flavors so that there is something for everyone to enjoy! Check out this Tea Party Food Recipe blog for great inspiration!

Tip #7: Get creative with the tea selection!

Just the same way as all not all guests will enjoy the same types of food, the same holds true with different flavors of tea! Ensure you have cold and hot teas for your guests in an assortment of flavors! You can even get really creative by making a DIY Tea Blend and then creating your own tea bags. Make sure to garnish the table with different herbs and fruits that compliment the selection of teas. Some popular garnishments are lemon, orange, raspberry, strawberry, lavender, basil, and mint!

Tip #8: Take a lot of pictures!

You spent a long time planning out your perfect little tea party and it's important that you have great pictures of your guests to remember your event! You could even make a cute scrapbook from all of the pictures taken so that you have a beautiful display from your tea party!

Now that you have a better understanding of what it takes to throw a perfect tea party you are ready to start planning out your guest list and to start prepping for your event! Make sure to take lots of pictures and comment below how your tea party went!
